For quite some time I have had my eye out for a heavy black paper to use for pages in my longstitch albums. I didn't realize finding black paper would be so time consuming - well, maybe I should have known...I'm very picky!

Turns out black paper can have a number of issues, none of which I'm willing to put up with. Marks from me working with the paper show on some black paper. Some blacks do not have the same finish front and back, a problem when you're folding pages in half. Some black papers are not lightfast and bleed. Some black papers are not acid free, while the matching white papers are. And some are $10 a sheet. Yikes! It's enough to drive a detail-oriented person like me crazy.
But I did it...I found the right one. It's affordable, it has a beautiful felt finish, it does not show marks from being manipulated, and it's acid free with archival qualities. It's also recycled with a minimum of 30% post-consumer content - a bonus!

The real win is that is makes fabulous photo album or scrapbook pages. Black sets off photos like nothing else and I'm so pleased to be able to offer quality black pages in any of my longstitch albums. It's just a small upgrade from the standard warm white pages. A gorgeous charcoal color is available by special order if you prefer something softer than black.
